Kids Belong, established in 2013, strives to support youth aging out of foster care in West Michigan by offering them a stable first step towards independence. Recognizing the significant hurdles these young adults face, Kids Belong provides them with their first apartments where they can learn to budget, pay rent, and build credit in a supportive environment. This initiative not only fosters self-sufficiency but also ensures these individuals have the tools to succeed academically and socially. The program plans to expand by building up to 14 rental units in Muskegon, enhancing their ability to serve more youth. Each unit, located conveniently near essential services and educational opportunities, helps bridge the gap to a hopeful, self-reliant future for these deserving young adults.
