From May 5–30, our team is #PlayingItForward for the Barton family—Bill, Marci, Sydney, and Lucas.
Lucas was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) when he was five and a half years old. DMD is a severe, progressive genetic disorder that causes muscle degeneration and weakness due to the absence of dystrophin, a protein that helps keep muscle cells intact. It primarily affects boys and typically appears in early childhood. Over time, it impacts every part of daily life—from mobility and independence to heart and lung function. While there is no cure, ongoing care and support can help improve quality of life and manage symptoms along the way.
Lucas loves animals, puns, video games, and more, and he brings a joyful energy to the people around him. We’re grateful to be part of the Barton family’s story during this season.
We are thankful for the opportunity to Fulfill Our Mission to bless others and #PlayItForward. Learn more about FŌM25.
