Fom2022-Blog-Post-Week-14-Embrace-Books.jpg

We've kicked off our final week, week 14 of the FŌM2022 season by #playingitforward for Embrace Books!

Embrace Books is a nonprofit organization in Muskegon that believes reading (and books) should be accessible to everyone. They give away free books every second and fourth Saturday of the month in an effort to get books into the hands of people who wouldn't otherwise have them. No limit, no fees, just come and take as many books as you'd like, always free. They'll even help you carry your haul to your car! On their website, they state the importance of reading in developing and growing the minds of a community. "Families have picked up books for their young kids and their elderly parents. We have helped teachers stock their classroom shelves, worked with reading/literacy programs and given books to organizations across West Michigan to help strengthen our community. Senior Centers and Communities have refreshed their shelves to the delight of their residents, and we’ve been able to attend community events to spread some book love even further." They have all genres available: Fiction of all kinds, biographies, history, religion, textbooks, hobby books, curriculum, etc. Embrace Books is a nonprofit organization in Muskegon that believes reading (and books) should be accessible to everyone.
