Here at Fōmcore, we understand how taxing the demands of daily life can become. We take pride in the consistent hard work of our employees, and we’re always looking for ways to help our team grow in both their professional and personal lives. One of the ways that we offered additional resources was through our bi-weekly Lunch and Learn program. Every other Tuesday, Pastor Eric Strattan organized a short message to talk about during lunch with any team members who want to attend. The program is voluntary, confidential, and intended for employee assistance and leadership development. We recently sat down with Eric to chat more about his role in these bi-weekly Lunch and Learns.
“For all of my adult life, I’ve always had a passion for people. Specifically at Fōmcore, I’ve gotten to know the Leffrings very well over the years. My involvement here eventually evolved into something where Jeremy asked if I would be willing to step in to create a care program. I really like the concept of being able to take 20 minutes, grab a piece of pizza and a topic of interest, and talk about it practically and informally for a bit.”
Some of the Lunch and Learn topics over the past few months have included how to manage stress, how to handle difficult relationships, and the challenges that come with genuine forgiveness. Each session opens authentic conversations between employees while also providing helpful reminders and tips for these life challenges.
“It’s been amazing to see the program develop from the ground up. The key is that it’s an employee assistance program that provides voluntary and confidential guidance.”
We’re so grateful for Eric’s leadership and our team’s participation in the Lunch and Learn program. While Covid restrictions have paused the Lunch and Learn program, we are looking forward to resuming them when it is safe to gather. Until next time, This is Us, #AtOurCore.
